Product Details
Encoder Disc is the core precision component of rotary encoders. With precision optical/magnetic patterns engraved on its surface, it rotates synchronously with the shaft. By detecting pattern changes via sensors, it converts angular displacement into electrical signals, achieving high-precision measurement of position, speed and direction. It is widely used in automated motion control systems.
Main Types
Optical Encoder Disc (Mainstream)- Transmission type: Glass/PC substrate with alternating transparent and opaque areas, generating pulses through light penetration.
- Reflection type: Metal/coated substrate with high-reflection and light-absorption areas, detecting changes in reflected light.
- Magnetic Encoder Disc: Steel base with magnetic coating, magnetized with regular N-S poles. Works with Hall sensors, featuring strong vibration resistance and oil tolerance.
Borosilicate Glass: Excellent thermal stability, highest precision, ideal for high-end equipment.
- Metal (Stainless Steel/Aluminum): High strength, shock-resistant, suitable for heavy-duty industrial applications.
- Polymer (PC/PET): Lightweight and cost-effective, commonly used in consumer electronics and small motors.
- Ceramic/Composite: Ultra-low thermal expansion, for ultra-high precision and extreme temperature environments.
- Resolution: 100–65536 PPR (Pulses Per Revolution), standard 1000–2000 PPR
- Diameter: 10–300mm, customizable
- Accuracy: ±1′ – ±30″ (arcminutes/arcseconds)

Packaging Specification
-Single Product Package:
Custom EPE foam inner box + anti-static bag, compact and portable, suitable for single piece shipment and storage.
- Bulk Package: Multiple single packaged products placed in a unified large high-strength corrugated carton, with partitions between each product to avoid mutual extrusion; the number of products per carton can be customized according to customer requirements.
- Carton Size: Customized according to the diameter and quantity of encoder discs (conventional sizes: 15cm×15cm×5cm, 20cm×20cm×6cm, 30cm×30cm×8cm), with optimized space utilization to reduce transportation costs.
