Product Description
Etched Micro Needle Roller Drum for Aesthetic Device OEM
Xinhaisen manufactures micro needle roller drums by photo chemical etching.Every needle row is formed in a single etching cycle from one artwork file, so the drum keeps one uniform tip geometry from the first row to the last, without the burrs and mechanical stress that stamping or laser cutting leave behind. The drum is supplied either as a stand-alone etched part or as a component ready to be fitted into your own roller assembly.
Why Etch the Needle Rows Instead of Stamping Them
- Burr-free tips — the needle profile is created by chemical dissolution rather than shear, so no secondary deburring step is needed.
- No thermal or mechanical stress — the strip is neither heated nor deformed, so flatness and material condition stay as supplied.
- Dense, repeatable needle rows — all rows on one drum come from the same artwork, which keeps pitch, spacing and tip shape identical along the whole circumference.
- Changes without new hard tooling — a revised artwork file is enough to change row count, pitch or tip profile.
Tolerance and Edge Control
| Parameter | Capability |
|---|---|
| Dimensional tolerance | Down to ±0.005mm on etched features |
| Edge condition | Burr-free, smooth etched edge with controllable taper |
| Surface treatment | Mirror polishing, passivation or deburring on request |
| Material thickness | 0.01mm – 1.5mm |
| Repeatability | All rows etched from one artwork, one batch, one process route |
Material and Sheet Capability
| Material | Thickness | Sheet Size |
|---|---|---|
| Steel and stainless steels (SUS301 / 304 / 316L) | 0.01mm – 1.5mm | 650mm x 1800mm |
| Nickel and nickel alloys | 0.01mm – 1.5mm | 600mm x 1500mm |
| Copper and copper alloys | 0.01mm – 1.5mm | 600mm x 1500mm |
| Aluminium | 0.01mm – 1.5mm | 600mm x 1500mm |
| Titanium and titanium alloys | 0.01mm – 1mm | 600mm x 550mm |
The material grade is selected together with the customer, taking into account the device design, the cleaning or sterilisation route and the required service life. SUS316L and titanium are the usual choices for parts that touch the skin.
Drum Assembly and Device Integration
- Mounting interface — centre bore, shaft fit or hub feature machined to the customer drawing; the etched drum can be supplied flat for later forming or already formed and joined.
- Combined processes — etching can be combined with stamping, laser cutting and polishing when the part needs features that etching alone cannot produce.
- Protective artwork handling — customer drawings, STEP files and artwork stay with the project team and are not reused for other customers.
Production Route
- Drawing and artwork review, DFM feedback on needle pitch, tip radius and web width
- Tooling film generation and photoresist lamination
- Exposure, development and etching of the needle pattern
- Photoresist stripping and cleaning
- Polishing, passivation or deburring as specified
- Dimensional and visual inspection, pre-production sample approval before mass production
- Final inspection before shipment and packing
Quality and Certifications
Xinhaisen has been producing precision etched metal parts since 2012, with a 7,000 m² production facility, a 1,000 m² cleanroom, more than 120 employees and eight automated etching lines. The quality system is certified to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and IATF 16949. Each order runs with a pre-production sample before mass production and a final inspection before shipment.
Typical Applications
- Microneedling and collagen induction roller heads for aesthetic devices
- Mesotherapy and serum delivery roller components
- Scalp care and hair growth roller heads
- OEM needle arrays for skin care equipment and beauty instruments
- Other fine etched needle, pin and array components for medical and industrial devices
What to Send for Evaluation
- 2D drawing or 3D model: DWG, DXF, PDF, STEP, IGES, Gerber, AI or CorelDraw
- Material grade and thickness, plus surface finish requirement
- Needle geometry: tip profile, row density, working length, drum diameter and mounting interface
- Estimated annual or per-order quantity, and the packing or labelling requirement
FAQ
1. Which drawing formats can you work from?
DWG, DXF, PDF, STEP, IGES, Gerber, CorelDraw and AI files are all accepted.
2. Can needle length and row density be customised?
Yes. Both are defined by the artwork, and the final values are confirmed on the drawing before tooling starts.
3. Which material should be used for a skin-contact roller?
SUS316L and titanium are the common choices. The final grade is confirmed together with the customer, based on the device design and its cleaning or sterilisation process.
4. What is the minimum order quantity?
500 pieces is used as a reference quantity. Smaller trial quantities can be discussed against the drawing.
5. How is the drum fixed to the handle?
The bore, shaft or hub feature is produced to your drawing. Etching can be combined with stamping, laser cutting and polishing where needed.
6. How are price and schedule determined?
Both depend on the drawing, the material, the tolerance level and the order quantity, and are quoted after the drawing is reviewed. Each enquiry is evaluated on its own specification.
7. Which delivery and payment terms are used?
Delivery terms FOB, CFR, CIF and EXW. Payment by T/T, PayPal, Western Union or Cash. Currencies USD, EUR, JPY, CAD, AUD, HKD and CNY.

Send your drawing and target quantity for an evaluation.
