1.Chemical etching micro channels of PCHE heat exchanger plates
Chemical etching, also known as photo etching or photochemical machining (PCM), is a highly accurate process for shaping metals. It works by applying chemical etchants to dissolve specific, pre-defined areas of the metal surface.
- Material Cutting – The metal sheet is cut to the required size for processing.
- Cleaning – Oils, oxides, and contaminants are removed to ensure a clean surface.
- Printing – A photoresist layer is applied, and the design pattern is printed onto the surface.
- Exposure – The printed sheet is exposed to UV light through a photomask, hardening the selected areas.
- Developing – Unhardened photoresist is washed away, revealing the areas to be etched.
- Etching – The sheet is immersed in a chemical solution that removes the exposed metal, forming the desired pattern.
- Stripping – The remaining photoresist is stripped off, leaving the finished etched structure.
- Data Inspection – The final parts are inspected against the design data to ensure precision and quality.
